Good question. In the beginning I was also worried about that so I thought about if I could potentially just use minimal kanji or something but it didn't seem possible so I was kinda giving up. But then I check how Undertale and Deltarune did it and realized they actually did't use any kanji at all (except for some certain part I think but that doesn't matter). They basically put spaces between words like in English so it's actually readable even if it's all hiragana. And yeah, that's what I plan to do.

And don't worry, I will definitely notify you when it's done and will make a community post and everything too. I might even try to contact Temmie to ask if she would be willing to put it in the description of the game or something so more people could see it but we'll see.

Hey HIZUVI, sorry for replying so late. Been a little busy. Gotta say, I absolutely love this elaborate tutorial you've made and I really appreciate it. I would have never figured all this out myself with my little knowledge of technical stuff like this. Every step is explained in depth making it super easy to understand and I was able to succeed in getting the hiragana characters to display in-game. I've been working on drawing all the characters in Krita since yesterday and I just finished all 46 hiragana characters. I tried my best to make them look as nice as possible but after testing how they look in-game I'll probably have to make some more adjustments. Even with all that done I still have to draw all the hiragana that also have dot dots (I have no clue what they're called in English) and all 46 of the katakanas characters as well. Of course once I finish that I can finally get to the translating part of all this. So all and all it'll probably take about 2 weeks at best till I'm all done but I'll try my best.

I actually did some research and also found translator++ which seems to work pretty well. I was able to extract all the game’s text and experimented by translating a bit if dialogue to Japanese. As expected, when I exported it to the game and tested it, the text just became blank. So yeah, the font is gonna have to change. I’ll be looking forward to hearing your solution if you get it to work.

Is there a way to change the font to something that does support Japanese characters?

Hey, Japanese speaker here, I absolutely love the game so far (haven't beaten it yet). I was just wondering if I were do do a fan translation, how would it be added? I read the devlog saying translations were ok but I'm not sure if I'm meant to submit it somewhere or add it in my self (don't know if I'd be able to do that cause I have no experience in technical stuff). Still not completely sure if I actually want to translate the whole game since it'll probably take a while but I was just curious how one would be added.

Amazing work! The art was very cute and the story is intriguing. Looking forward to the full version :)
